Erik discusses the facts, objectives, legal options, and likely next steps. Representation begins only after the firm accepts the matter and a written engagement agreement is signed.
What to prepare
Do not postpone contacting the firm because you do not yet have every document. After scheduling, the team will provide a matter-specific list. Items that are often useful include:

Existing estate-planning documents.
A general asset summary when requested.
Nursing-facility, Medicaid, hospital, or rehabilitation notices.
The decedent's will and death certificate for estate matters.
Trust documents, accountings, court filings, or relevant correspondence.
Known deadlines.
A list of the client's principal questions.

Telephone or video consultations may be available when appropriate. Some work still requires original documents, verified identity, witnesses, notarization, an in-person signing, property access, a medical or capacity assessment, or a court appearance.
